RICHARD'S BIO
Growing up and trying to survive the best he could on the mean streets of Brooklyn, Richard Castellano got a late but successful start to an acting career that jumped into action four years ago, where he found himself playing character roles on such television shows as "Law and Order", and even did a pilot for a show called "U.S. Customs". He began his work in films in a 1994 NYU student film called "Snowy Night". From then on there was no stopping for Richard, as he gained more and more experience with the world of film.
Before long he had a call from L.A.-based director and screenwriter Eddie Barbini and found himself heading the cast in his feature film debut: WHACKING COWS. Shot on locaiton in up state New York, and on the streets of Brooklyn, this intense, gritty movie tells Richie's own real-life story, chronicling his terrifying struggle to liberate himself from his past.
Richard also did cast the movie, and, along the way, his wife Jocelyne Castellano became involved in distributing the film in foreign and domestic markets. It has also been shown at varius film festivals, was nomiated at the prestigious Hollywood Film Festival, and won the Audience Award at the Brooklyn Festival in 1998.
A short time afterwards, Richard auditioned for three or four minor parts on the Warner Bros. motion picture ANALYZE THIS - a comedy about a psychiatrist (Crystal) whose number one patient is an insecure mob boss (De Niro). But after seeing him perform, the casting director felt he was good enough to play the role of bodyguard Jimmy Boots opposite Robert DeNiro and Billy Crystal - winning the fourth lead role against a great deal of distinguished competition.
Richard is also starring in the soon-to-be released thriller FOUR DEADLY REASONS - story written by his son, Richard Castellano Jr; screenplay by Michael Bradburn and Joe Dinki.
